Gibbs designed their caving ascender for use in the worst conditions possible, making it the standard for rescue professionals world wide. The stainless steel shell takes the worst abuse you can dish out, and the spring loaded cam bites onto muddy or frozen ropes.
The spring can be removed to convert this to a free-running configuration, if desired.
Each unit comes with a quick-lock pin, allowing attachment to rope in just seconds along with an optional bolt and locknut for fliplines and other personal safety lanyards that require semi-permanent attachment.
